Living With HIV

World AIDS Day (WAD), which falls on December 1 every year, is a global event where groups of the world over join forces to publicly highlight the HIV/AIDS endemic. In conjunction with this day, GSSC Malaysia initiated a fund raising activity by selling merchandise provided by the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC).

The GSSCKL HIV Team spent two hours with Wholesale Banking Operations’ Export Payment Hong Kong, Export Payment Malaysia and X-Border teams recently. Held in Technology Park Malaysia, the session aimed to promote awareness among staff about HIV/AIDS and was the first in the sustainability team’s HIV/AIDS Departmental Tour.

On 23rd June 2009, GSSC KL’s Living with HIV (LwH) team joined forces once again with the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) to impart knowledge about HIV and AIDS to 41 interns from the Scope International Malaysia Academy (SIMA).

The 2009 International AIDS Memorial Day, the world¡¦s oldest and largest grassroots mobilization campaign addressing HIV/AIDS, was celebrated on 17 May in more than 100 countries. It aims to honour and support those who have been affected by HIV/AIDS and mobilize worldwide communities to engage in dialogue, education and partnerships to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS

The annual Charity Run & Carnival by Standard Chartered Malaysia returns with over 600 runners and a pledge from its employees to contribute the proceeds towards the Bank’s ‘Living with HIV/AIDS’ fund. The ‘FunD Run’, organised by Standard Chartered’s Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) staff, aims to raise RM100,000 to benefit children living with HIV/AIDS.
