March 2009 – GSSC Klub’s trip to Mabul Island and Sipadan Island provided a fabulous opportunity for GSSC KL staff to get close to marine life. During the trip, 27 staff were certified as PADI Open Water Divers. The others snorkeled in the clear waters teeming with underwater marine life.

Marine Park personnel also shared with GSSC KLub members issues threatening the marine environment, such as unsustainable development, destructive fishing and irresponsible diving behaviour. The crucial need to protect our natural heritage was highlighted. To contribute to the Marine Park’s conservation efforts, each KLub member donated RM40 to the Fund.
