On-going Relief for Sichuan Earthquake Victims
Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia and Scope International Malaysia jointly
collected RM52, 628.50 to help victims of the Sichuan Earthquake. The donation
was made through Sin Chew Jit Poh’s Foundation which will be channeled directly
to the affected Chinese villagers.
Zaiton Hj. Idrus, Country Head Corporate Affairs, Standard Chartered Bank
Malaysia, presented the cheque to the leading Chinese newspaper. The total
amount comprised RM19, 800 made up of personal donations by Scope
International staff, and RM32, 828.50 from Standard Chartered Bank’s Customers
Choice Points programme. The Bank’s credit card customers were given a choice
to convert their accumulated Choice Points into cash.
