Relay for Life
15 GSSC KL staff participated in the Relay for Life event organized by the
National Cancer Society of Malaysia. Aimed to raise funds for cancer victims,
“Relay for Life” involves a 16-hour walk/run in a stadium. Cancer survivors
dressed in bright yellow t-shirts take the lead in the walk, followed by the other
participants. This symbolizes that the care and support by the Community for
cancer victims.
GSSC KL staff walked the 16 hour laps carrying in front of them a banner which
read, “One World! One Hope! Join us in the fight against cancer”.
When night fell, all participants were invited to pay silent tribute for 10 minutes.
The LUMINIRIA Ceremony, a candlelight memorial ceremony was held to
honour cancer victims who have passed away or are currently battling cancer.
It was a poignant event for the GSSC KL participants.
